Robin Purohit serves as vice president, Software Products within HP's Software & Solutions business. He is responsible for design, development, marketing and go-to-market for Business Technology Optimization (BTO) applications and operations portfolios, as well as Information Management (IM) products.
Most recently he was vice president and general manager of HP Software's* IM group. Before joining HP via the Mercury Interactive acquisition in 2006, Robin served as vice president of products at Mercury, where he led the application management, ITIL and IT governance product teams. With the Mercury acquisition, Robin served as the Mercury leader for product and solution integration with HP Software.
Earlier, Robin held a number of executive positions at Veritas Software in product management and strategy for storage software and utility computing during a six-year period. Prior to Veritas, he was a product line manager for storage networking at 3COM where he was charged with developing business plans for the company's entry into the storage networking industry.
Robin is a returning HP veteran, having spent three years as an R&D manager and strategic planning leader for high performance computing and I/O strategy for the Unix group in the HP System Technology Group during the mid-1990s.
Robin holds a BS degree from Waterloo University in Electrical Engineering and Physics/Co-Op program.
*HP Software became HP Software & Solutions in November 2008.
