Successful Software Asset Management (SAM) with HP Asset Manager and HP Discovery & Dependency Mapping Inventory (DDMI)

Although high complexity, many dependencies and permanent changes are typical for SAM, a best practice solution must support simple and flexible usage. Many other offerings reduce SAM to license compliance aspects and don't tap into its high saving potential. In contrast to this the presented use case of SAM with HP AM and DDMI is a best practice solution. Design and highlights of the solution are confronted with typical challenges of a global enterprise and practical project requirements. A proven best practice design for the entire scope of SAM is demonstrated. Additionally, a procedure for successful SAM implementation is presented.
